GOD HATES "FAGS"?!

God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve?!

Is the bold statement above a bit too harsh?

Islam as we know it is based on the Quran, Hadith and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), so to begin with lets take a look what these religious texts say about the matter.

"Do you approach males among the worlds. And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing."
[Quran 26: 165-166]

"Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."
[Quran 27:55]

By looking at these quotes we can conclude that it is a major sin to be homosexual in Islam. Regardless of this, we know that there are many men AND women that have homosexual fee
lings and desires. How may this be helped? Can this be helped?

Referring back to love, many boys. girls, men and women all have said 'we can't help who we fall in love with!' If that is the case, and we have undying love for someone, a feeling that takes over us then why is it homosexuality is prohibited in Islam? In fact most religions and religious texts clearly state it is a severe sin, but why? If we can't help how we feel or CONTROL our feelings then is this fair? Is it right?

Upon reading an article about Islam and homosexuality, I thought homosexuality for some is natural?  But the truth is Islam does not show wrath upon those who have homosexuals feelings but those who PRACTICE homosexuality. Having said that Islam teaches that humans cannot be homosexual by nature, so where does this leave those Muslims that have homosexual feelings?

This image was taken from an article called Queering the Quran. I was so shocked to come across this, (please take a read and you'll see why I'm in awe) but the title gives it away.

Those who are homosexual may be glad to read another article in the guardian about opening a gay-friendly mosque. To some of you the news of this may make you angry, after all there is no room for homosexuals in Islam, but in today's society we have to accept there are people that say they are Muslim and gay and need their space in society.

Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (saws) said: A man should not lie with another man and a woman should not lie with another woman without covering their private parts except a child or a father.

  1. No matter how wrong homosexuality is there will always be a place for it in todays society. It doesn't matter how WRONG it is, it will become liberal in every religion and tradition, the gay mosque does not surprise me!

  2. Viiva Glam,

Yes it will always be there but just because the world is becoming more liberal does that make the gay-mosque right and just? I don't particularly think so.

  3. No, Islamicslly it may not be right, but there are many things that aren't right, discussing them will not change that, so is there really a point dwelling on it?

Regarding the quote 'God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve' yes perhaps in mainstream religion this is the view, but I don't think those that are homosexuals will agree with you, and I'm not particularly sure they even follow a religious tradition. Those that do may find a place in religion, for example liberal Christians, gay priests. Yes, I agree there isn't such people in Islam as yet (or maybe never will be) but isn't the Quran read in many ways, I'm sure someone can translate it, trying to find a loophole one day where it is becoems slowly acceptable.

  4. Viiva Glam,

Interpretation of the Quran is a whole new matter in itself. I think I know where you may be coming from because I myself have seen someone, somewhere trying to mention that the people of Lot were not homosexual.

YES,discussion may not change facts and what is going on in today's society, but perhaps it will condemn acts like 'gay mosques' before they are even being built. If people are aware of such actions and feel strongly against it surely something will come of it?

Homosexuals may try and find 'loopholes' but the fact of the matter is Divine revelation is completley against homosexual relationships.

Homosexuality is not natural.. you cant just be born gay, its not in our nature. So where does it come from, i think homosexuality occurs due to the upbringing of the child. As studies show that most gay people have a difficult childhood as they grow up. Plus due to the intense desires caused by the things around them, their desired take them to the extreme which they have an urge to mate with the same sex.

So basically being gay isn't a natural issue. I would say its more of an environmental and mental issue.

    1. Shaju Miah,

Your opinion although harsh is not surprising. I'm sure there are many studies out there that claim to hove explanation to homosexuals. However there are still some people that have under gone therapy that claim they are still gay, how would you explain that?

Many people would probably disagree with your comment regarding homosexuality as a mental issue, but it is a firm belief to religious believers.

  6. Viva Glam,

I don't mean to sound rude or harsh but for some who can't even spell interpreting something so significant as the Quran is way out of your league. You are defying the purpose of the Quran and our Prophets (pbuh) mission. The Quran was sent as the FINAL and COMPLETE guidance for mankind. Therefore it is not there for people to find 'loop holes' so any talk of this is absurd!

As for homosexuality that is something so clearly discussed in our scripture I think who ever ignores the obvious facts is just ignorant. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against gays but if my religion restricts this then I simply won't permit this.

If anyone of you truly love Allah and have fear of death then you wouldn't dare to go against His wishes.

  7. Homosexuality is not natural. It goes against the purpose of humanity, which is reproduction. Thus it is forbidden in Islam. I don't believe God hates 'fags' God is all loving and will surely give them a chance to repent in their lifetime. Of course if they carry on in their ways then God has no choice but to punish them.

  8. Homosexuality as far as Islam is concerned is a sin.
People are not homosexuals by nature. People become homosexuals because of their environments.
As it is in the quran:
"Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant! " (Qur'an 27:55-58)

However as far as punishment goes this can differ from the different madhabs (schools of teaching) e.g.the hanafi school can leave the punishment at the judges discretion whereas shafi'i school considers this to be same as zina therefore punishment is on the same level.
As far as the treatment to homosexuals this can vary, islamist countries have a death sentence for gays (not all) whereas others can be more lenient compared but still harsh.
